YWAM ( Youth With A Mission )

"Suddenly I began to see in front of me a map of the world . Only the map was alive, moving. I sat up, shook my head, and rubbed my eyes. But it was a movie inside my head. A mental movie! I could see all the continents. And great waves crashing against the shores. Each wave hit a different continent, and receded, then advanced further until it covered the entire continent.

I held my breath. Then the scene changed. The waves transformed into young people , young people my age and even younger, who invaded the continents. They were talking to people on the streets, on street corners and in bars. They went from house to house. And they were preaching. Amazed, still staring at the white walls, I wondered if that vision had come from the Lord. Young people, practically teenagers, going out into the world as missionaries?

What an idea! And I thought, “Why would God give me a vision like that?” (Loren Cunningham’s Vision)

Founded in 1960 by Loren Cunningham, Youth With A Mission is an interdenominational and international missionary agency with a philanthropic focus, committed to mobilizing young people of all nations for the Great Commission. YWAM operates in over 180 countries and has approximately 18,000 full-time volunteers across various ministries.

In Rio de Janeiro, in the city of Guapimirim, YWAM (wave vision) arrives in 2023 By a missionary family (Daniel and Andrea and their children) The family already served in missions in other missionary bases in Brazil, in the areas of Mercy, Children at Risk, and Home.

During these experiences they received the call from God to leave everything and come to Guapimirim to start a new missionary base of YWAM with the purpose of maintaining the movement of mobilization of the great commission as commanded by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20 . Make disciples of all nations... and teach to obey what Jesus taught.

These teachings are offered through Training, Evangelism and Social Projects driven by Love for others, Faith in God, and Works that transform lives.

In Brazil, YWAM's work began in 1975 by Jim and Pamela, North American missionaries who arrived in Brazil with only six dollars in their pockets.

Today we have about 60 Offices and Missionary Training Centers spread throughout all regions of Brazil, and more than 1,300 volunteers serving full-time in our nation.

No one can carry a heavy burden alone for long. When we come together and carry each other's burdens, we can go further and further.

Never carry the burden of building a dream alone; invite other dreamers to carry the dream with you.                                                                  Daniel Mascena

YWAM Guapi Dreamers

"With so many things to describe, I want to say how incredible YWAM Guapi is. Even having a brief contact initially was extraordinary. They are more than a project, they are a family, and it goes much further than games and teachings. They are people entirely aligned with the will of Christ. In every word, every prayer, every teaching, it is possible to see the action of God, and as the name "YWAM" itself says, they are people with a mission. I found in this base not only people who seek Christ like me, but also a family in Christ."
